What is FUT Eyebrow Transplant (Iranian Method)?
FUT Eyebrow Transplant technique, especially in the field of eyebrow transplantation “The Iranian way” also known as.
How is Eyebrow Transplantation Performed with FUT (Iranian Method)?
Since 150-400 grafts are sufficient in most eyebrow transplant cases, the strip of tissue removed from the donor area is kept quite small.
- Length It is about 2-4 cm long.
- Width It is approximately 3-6 mm.
Since the tissue size is small, the linear (horizontal) scar that may occur can usually be easily hidden between the hairs. The length of the tissue to be removed may vary depending on the number of grafts required, donor hair density, hair thickness, the size of the planned area and whether a single eyebrow or two eyebrows will be transplanted.
The first examples of the widespread use of the FUT technique in eyebrow transplantation were seen especially in hair restoration centers in Iran. For this reason, it has come to be known as the “Iranian eyebrow transplant method” in some clinics and among the public. However, this is not a separate surgical procedure; it is a version of the FUT technique specially adapted to eyebrow transplantation.
Reasons Why FUT Eyebrow Transplant is Popular Again
Graft Damage:
Direction Control:
Graft Quality:
Although FUE and Long Hair FUE techniques are more preferred today, the FUT method provides highly effective results in certain situations. It is especially preferred in the following cases:
- When a very thin single graft is needed,
- In regional eyebrow transplants where a limited number of grafts are required,
- In special surgical situations where experienced physicians want to take advantage of microscopic dissection control.
Recovery Process After FUT Eyebrow Transplant
Early Days
It is normal to see mild redness, minimal edema and small crusting in the transplanted area. These symptoms disappear in a short time.
2-3 Weeks - Natural Shedding Process
The transplanted hairs experience a temporary and natural shedding. The root structures of follicular units continue to maintain their vitality under the skin.
3-4 Months - Regrowth
New eyebrow hairs begin to grow from the roots that complete the resting phase. The first symptoms begin to be observed in this period.
6-12 Months - Final Result
The eyebrows regain their final density and permanent, natural appearance. The transplanted grafts reach full maturation.
Important Note
The post-operative process progresses in very clear stages and patients can return to their daily lives in a short time. Each stage may show individual differences; physician follow-up is of great importance in this process.
